Performance-based brake testers provide valuable information about brake performance that can be obtained by no other method. The device measures and compares braking performance from axle to axle, and end to end. Almost all European countries, Australia, New Zealand, and many Asian countries have mandated the use of PBBT’s as part of an annual vehicle inspection. The American Trucking Association has adopted a policy supporting the use of PBBT’s to measure braking performance on commercial vehicles. They are a good investment. They improve safety and reduce operating costs.
